Match report:
Eagle Bitter United Counties Football League

Wellingborough Town 2004 8
- Ford Sports Daventry 1
Saturday, 10 March 2007
Wellingborough: John Hughes, Tim Wooding, James Lister, Stuart Smeathers, Stewart Marshall, Matt Green (Dave Bond), Alfie Taylor (Luke Pritchard), Jed Ainge, Jon Mitchell (Adam Hancock), Mike Sneddon, David Glass.
Fords: Andy Millard, Ben Collins, Rob Steele, Frank Maher, Alan Haynes, Matty Cox (Simeon Nembhard), Ashley Robinson, Ian Waldock, Reuben Max Grant, Paul Currier, Danny Wright (Tommy Waldock).
Wellingborough ran riot in the second half to hand next to bottom Ford Sports a drubbing. The Motormen actually scored first, Danny Wright the tenth minute marksmen, but David Glass levelled eight minutes later. Individual errors took there toll on the Motormen and as we well know mistakes against the top sides in the division do not go unpunished, and what followed was a tad embarrassing to say the least as the floodgates opened and Wellingborough ran in a further seven goals.
OK, we can say that three offside decisions went against us and if we hadn’t made the mistakes at the back we could maybe have lost by the odd goal, but ifs and buts count for nothing at the final whistle, Reuben Max Grant made his debut in this game and showed some star qualities, and if not for Ford stopper Andy Millard the score line could have been worse.
Plus points were that both Matty Cox and Tommy Waldock both returned from recent injuries.
