This was one of those games Fords could have done with getting some points from, we started well and Jason Pearcey was only called into action in the first 45 minutes when he dived to left to push away a 25 yard strike from Sean Murray, Fords were camped in St Neots half in the first period but could never find that final ball .
The first half ended all square and Fords must have been the happier, the second half saw St Neots pick there game up a little but neither side looked to have the final ball to finish the other one off.
St Neots Mark Franklin was sent off for a second bookable defence in a game that was starting to resemble a poker game with the amount of cards being dealt.
Jonathan Crockett came closest to breaking the deadlock with a thunderous drive that hit the underside of the bar and upright unfortunately for Fords it bounced out the wrong way.
With 13 minutes to go the St Neots defence cleared their lines Rob Steele tried to control the ball, as he did the ball screwed off his knee into the centre forwards path, he ran through on goal and managed to get his shot away just before Steely brought him down, the shot went high and wide but the ref had no choice but to award the spot kick and send Steele off for the second time this season.
St Neots made no mistake with the penalty, Fords had no choice but to throw caution to the wind and although coming close on a few occasions they were hit on the counter late on in the game to rule out any hope of a comeback.
