Hard working Fords never looked like conceding a goal in this game, new signing Stephen Thompson instilled some organisation into the back line and another new signing Paul Sniffer even gave the forward line a link man.

Both side had chances as first Steve Khune went close for St Neots and then Chris Trill spurned a free header from six yards.

Then with nine minutes to go Matt Endersby speculative volley looped into the far corner and ruined the day for Fords.
