At last three points and a well deserved three points at that. St Ives led on the half hour when Stefan Lewis pulled the ball back for Stefan Lewis to smash the ball home from close range.

Just before the break Ian Waldock was hacked down from behind and the referee had no choice but to award a penalty, Tim Clacks first effort was saved but he made no mistake with the rebound.

Both sides had chances to go ahead in the second period but it wasn’t until Fords substitute Tommy Waldock weaved his way into the box only to be hauled down by Will Fordham giving the man in black no option again but to point to the spot.

Paul Eden stepped up to the line and with clinical precision put Fords ahead, Fords held their lead to the end to give Darran Foster his first win of the season.
