A bad start to the day, with the Ford top brass asking us if there is any way we can cut the budget yet further you could have forgiven the lads for putting in a lack lustre performance.

For the second week running Ford were ahead with only ten minutes gone, Reuben Max Grant's persistent pressure paid off as he out-muscled the Spencer defence and slotted the ball past Urqhuart in the Spencer goal.

As the previous week Spencer managed to pull level ten minutes later when the Ford defence failed to react to a free-kick and Spencer's Pete Gregory had an easy tap in to level the scores, Ford continued to battle hard up to half time and had half chances to take the lead but failed to convert any.

The second half was going to be difficult for the Ford defence as they were now against the notorious Royal Oak wind, but they showed the battling qualities that deserted them against Wellingborough the week before, then in the 54th minute Rob Steele failed to control the ball and it fell to Darren Frost who smashed the ball past Ford keeper Andy Millard, still Ford battled and it was another mistake by the Ford defence that allowed Ben Foster to nip in and give Spencer a two goal cushion.

Then in the last minute Zac Nedimovic chested the ball down and smashed a left foot volley into the far corner of the net. This was a goal worthy of winning this fixture and if not for the mistakes earlier in the game would have been the winner, a much better performance from the lads although the result suggests otherwise.
