Holbeach are always tough to beat and today did nothing to sway this view, for long periods of the first half two midfields battled for the upper hand.

On 13 minutes Robbie Steel let fly with a thunderous drive which flashed past the upright, then Duncan Harris was booked for a nothing tackle and at this point Fords were on top, Duncan Harris then met a Steve Thompson corner only to see his effort scrambled off the line.

Holbeach equalised just before the half with a flowing five pass move that ended with an easy tap in, this was probably the best move of the game.

Fords then lost the services of Matty Cox with a hamstring strain and at half time Duncan Harris had to be replaced after a clash of heads.

Lady luck has definitely given up on us, with 6 minutes of the second half we were down to ten men, Alan Haynes had just returned to the game after treatment brought down Omar Joof and was sent off.

Know what I said earlier about lady luck with 27 gone of the second half Jonathan Crockett headed the ball back to the keeper and he wasn’t there and the ball went into the back of his own net.

Ten men and 2-1 down and Fords battled for an equaliser first Chris Trill and then Sniffer Eden went close before Steve Thompson picked out Jonathan Crockett to head the equaliser with 13 minutes to go.

We had chances to go ahead but as so many times before this season we conceded with only 1 minute to go.
