Two wins on the trot, now were beginning to spoil you, Fozzy recruited some new faces for this game as Alan Gregory and Andy Pearsey came on loan from Leanmington and Alan Haynes signed from local side Priors Marston.

All were to fine tune a team that look good going forward but struggle a little a the back.

Jonathan Crockett was moved back into his favoured position in the middle of the park and marked his return with an excellent performance, as quick as the third minute he had Fords in front with a 25 yard strike that gave Desborough’s keeper no chance.

Desborough didn’t come to lay down and die and fought back but Fords new look defence looked solid and organised, Rich Crockett moved across to right back and Stephen Thompson returned at left back after suspension.

After losing the services of Frank Maher with a badly swollen eye after an elbow in the face against Olney and Liam Hynes still struggling with an ankle injury Timmy Clack was moved into the midfield diamond alongside Ian Waldock and Crockett with Rob Steele as anchor.

Everything was going to plan as six minutes after his first goal Croc made it two with a trade mark header , Fords went in at half time two nil up and they didn’t look like conceding.

After the break Desborough threw caution to the wind and were rewarded for their efforts when again we gave away a penalty, Andy Pearsey saved the spot kick but Desborough followed up quickly and scored the rebound.

This gave Desborough a new lease of life and they threw everything they had a Fords, some of the challenges going in were a bit over the top and some went unnoticed, we lost Paul Currier after one such lunge with an ankle injury.

For all their effort Desborough couldn’t find an equaliser and Fords put the game out of reach when Alan Gregory marked his debut with a well taken headed goal form a Timmy Clack corner
