Match report:
Eagle Bitter United Counties Football League
Premier Division
SATURDAY 7th APRIL
FORD SPORTS DAVENTRY 0 V 3 DEEPING RANGERS
Fords: Andy Millard, Ben Collins (Sean Smith), Rob Steele, Ian Waldock, Alan Haynes, Matty Cox, Ashley Robinson, Liam Hynes, Sam Haynes, Danny Wright, Chris Trill.
Deeping: Danny Bircham, John Paul Duncliffe (Matt Porter), Scott Woods, Michael Stevenson (Andy Ellis), Dave Cornell, Michael Goode, Mark Baines, Lee Ellison, Sam Bettinson (Tuncay Korkmaz), Danny Matson, David Cobb.
After three games in five days and with this being the fourth game in seven days for the Ford players Deeping was probably not the side we would have chosen to play if we had a choice, unfortunately we didn’t have a choice.
It took Deeping seventeen minutes to take the lead through Danny Matson. He added a second after 24 minutes and David Cobb put the game out of reach just before the half hour. Ford somehow managed to rustle up the energy to put on a much improved performance in the second half.
Ford keeper Andy Millard was knocked out cold in a collision with Matson with 10 minutes remaining and was taken to hospital by ambulance, scans found there to be no serious damage and he is hoping to be back for the fixture against Bourne.
