LEAGUE
ON CHENECKS 3 V DAVENTRY UNITED 1
Chenecks: Ben Garrett, Vinny Maye, Steve Allen, Joe Evans, Nathan Cook, Jason Bradshaw, Scott Barczewski (Jon Burdett), Ciaran White, Karl Bates (Lee Bradley), Jerry Moss (Greg Parry), Lee Haines.
Daventry: Roger Leeson, Rob Steele (Lee Reynolds), Leigh Roberts, Ross Irvine, Ady Pestell (Allan Haynes), Tony Burt, Michael Parkes, Ian Waldock, Tommy Waldock, Liam Hynes (Wayne Richardson), Joel Young.
United's promotion push suffered a setback as Chenecks wrecked their seven match winning streak. With Darran Foster being awarded manager of the month the side celebrated by putting in their worst performance of the season.
Take nothing away from Chenecks, they were the better side on the day and had no problem completing the double over a lacklustre United side. United went behind within 40 seconds of the start of this game when defensive frailties allowed Lee Haines to open Chenecks account. Karl Bates doubled their lead just before the half when United failed to deal with a clearance and paid the price.
Worse was to come although United did play better in the second period as Jon Burdett put this tie out of Uniteds reach on 54 minutes. Tony Burt hit a consolation for United on 75 minutes but it was all too late and United’s seven match un beaten run ended with a bang.
