Ford went into fixture knowing that nothing less than a victory would do, with the Robins in the same boat as Ford this was always going to be a tight, no holds barred contest.
Buckingham started the quickest as Tony Joyce pulled the strings in midfield and Buckingham's wingers gave our full backs something to think about.
Buckingham went close on more than one occasion in the opening twenty minutes and at times had Fords chasing shadows. Ford finally woke up mid way through the first half and Reuben Max Grant came close with a thunderous right foot drive, then Ashley Robinson struck the Buckingham crossbar from 30 yards out. Robinson had better luck on 25 minutes as his 20 yard effort flew into the bottom corner of the net,
Ford maintained this pressure until half time.
Ady Fuller scored on his debut for the Motormen when he flicked in from a Ben Collins centre after only three minutes of the re-start.
Rather than knock the stuffing out of Buckingham, this spurred them on and they forced a couple of great saves out of Millard in the Ford goal before Robin Tucker pulled one back twenty minutes from time. This set up a nail biting finish but Ford held on for all three points.
