Derby day, and the end of a run of five games in seven days and at times it showed. We thought the lads were tired against Deeping and all though it was a much better performance they were reaching for every last piece of energy they could find.
As is the norm we took a while to get into our stride and as again is the norm we had to go a goal behind before we started to play as a team. As early as the fifth minute Donovan Reed pounced to give Buckby the lead. Buckby's wide men ran riot for the first ten minutes and Darren Harmon pulled the strings up front. We managed to pull level when Duncan Harris flicked a header into the path of Reuben Max Grant and he poked the ball home from close range.
But again the wide men were Fords undoing as Chris Trill lost his man, he centred for Donovan who was all on his own in the Ford box and he made no mistake in giving Buckby the lead ten minutes before the break.
The second half saw Ford push forward but to no avail, but with a few tactical switches at half time Fozzy managed to limit the damage the wide men and Harmon created in the first half.
