Derby day and all to play for, comments in the Long Buckby programme thanking us for the three points in advance added a little bit of spice, although meant as a tongue in cheek gesture we have since had an apology from the powers that be at Long Buckby.

We started well going close on several occasions and never really looked under pressure in the early exchanges, Simeon Nembhard caused problems down the left and with Matty Cox working tirelessly down opposite touchline we had Buckby on the back foot.

Ashley Robinson made his full debut after Liam Hynes aggravated a groin injury in warm up and proved to be an excellent addition to the midfield alongside Ian Waldock and Johnathan Crockett, it was Nembhard hard work off the ball that created the goal, with the Long Buckby defence chasing him around the box Matty Cox’s centre was bundled over the line by Long Buckby's Lee Botterill.

For the rest of the first half we had chances to go further ahead and went into the break with a quite comfortable 1-0 lead, the second half saw Buckby throw everything they had at us for 15 minutes but the lads stood strong and with Andy Millard pulling off some fine saves we came away with three very well earned and needed  Derby points.
