After the previous week's result against Stansted, United went into this fixture as if they had all ready made round two and a return fixture against the old enemy Daventry Town, unfortunately somebody forgot to tell Blisworth.

That said United spent most of the game camped in Blisworth half but squandered chance after chance. Roger Leeson was pretty much redundant in the first half as United played some good football but lacked the final killer blow.

The second half started in pretty much the same way then on sixty minutes Blisworth sprang the offside trap and went ahead. United again took control of the game but could still not find a way past Blisworth.

Than in the dying moments of the game Richard Pannell thundered a left shot drive into Blisworth’s net and the tie went into extra time.

Extra time was no different to the first ninety minutes and this one went all the way to penalties. United eventually went through as Alan Haynes, Ady Pestell, Lee Reynolds, and Liam Hynes all scored from the spot and Roger Leeson made two penalty saves in his busiest period of the match.
